Whatever you use CJSM for you are bound by it's terms and conditions but have you actually read them? Do you know what your responsibilities and obligations are?  Not sure? Here you can find links to the Terms & Conditions and we have also highlighted a few things of particular importance.

CJSM Terms & Conditions

If you use CJSM then you are bound by it's Terms & Conditions.  When you or your organisation originally signed up to CJSM you will have been given a copy of the CJSM Terms & Conditions which would have been signed.  However if it was done as an organisation you probably haven't seen those Terms & Conditions.

Rather confusingly there are three different sets of T's&C's;

1. Sole User - this is for an individual who works entirely on their own but needs a CJSM account.

2. Multitple Users - this is for an organisation that operates multiple CJSM accounts.

3. All Users - this applies to everyone no matter what flavour of CJSM you use.

We have included links to each set and these are also available through the CJSM Terms & Conditions page.

What you need to know

If you decide that reading through another set of Terms and Conditions is just too much of a faff, then at least read the following as you may well change your mind.

Going abroad? Leave CJSM behind...

"I confirm that I will only connect to CJSM from within the UK and will not attempt to access the CJSM service from a location that is outside the UK."

Such a nuisance having to put a password in...

"I will ensure that computing devices will not be left unattended unless they are physically secure and require a password for access (a password protected screen saver for instance)."

You are not using CJSM on a tablet or phone are you?

"I understand that authorisation to use Tablet Computers, Smart phones etc has to be obtained from the MOJ before they can be used on CJSM."

No encryption, seriously?

"We confirm that all portable computers/mobile devices or storage devices (e.g. USB flash drives), that will be used for sending/receiving CJSM email or for storing ‘RESTRICTED’ data are protected against unauthorised use; and that data is encrypted to safeguard against unauthorised disclosure through the use of full disk/device encryption to standards acknowledged by HMG or the ICO (e.g. CAPS or FIPS 140-2)."

What is above are some of the headline terms and conditions for CJSM, the rest are pretty straightforward but you must really read the lot for yourself and if you have any questions, either get in touch with us or speak to the CJSM Helpdesk directly.

CJSM FAQ

CJSM also provide the answers to a number of Frequently Asked Questions about the service, including clarification on the use of CJSM on phones/tablets.  It is recommended you read these FAQs as they do help clarity some of the more seeminly onerous conditions.  You can read them here:
